PlainsCapital Bank CEO to retire in May

Hilltop Holdings in Dallas is moving around several executives due to the pending retirement of its bank CEO.

The $16.4 billion-asset company said in a press release that Jerry Schaffner will also retire as president of PlainsCapital Bank on May 1. He has been in those roles since 2010.

Jeremy Ford, Hilltop’s president and CEO, will become bank CEO and Brian Heflin, PlainsCapital’s chief operating officer, will become bank president.

Pete Villarreal, the company’s chief administrative officer, succeeded Heflin as chief operating officer.

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to build on Jerry’s legacy,” Ford said in the release. “This is an exciting time for our organization, as we remain focused on supporting and growing our markets and enhancing the bank’s connectivity and profitability.”
