INSIGHTS INTO THE BANKING INDUSTRY

Veteran bank analyst Ed Najarian joins EF Hutton

Ed Najarian, a veteran banking analyst, has ended an extended break to join EF Hutton.

EF Hutton, a division of Benchmark Investments, said in a press release that Najarian was named senior managing director of its equity research department.

“Building a top-tier research platform has been a key priority for the management team at EF Hutto,” CEO Joseph Rallo said in the release. “We welcome Ed Najarian as a highly respected institutional investor equity analyst, who will greatly enhance the overall breadth of equity research offerings at EF Hutton.”

Najarian, who has more than 20 years of experience as a sell-side equity research analyst covering the banking industry, hasn’t actively worked in equity research since leaving ISI Group in 2013.

“I always intended to take an extended break during the middle of my life, and now I’m finally going to do that,” Najarian wrote in an e-mail to friends and colleagues when he left ISI Group.” “Next year, when I turn 50, I’ll be happily focused on lowering my handicap, not grinding on banks.”
