Citizens Financial Group in Providence, R.I., has a new president.
The $220 billion-asset company said in a press release that it had promoted Brendan Coughlin, who had been vice chair and head of consumer, private banking and wealth. He will add oversight of enterprise data & analytics and marketing to his current supervisory roles.
“Brendan has a long track record of strong leadership and execution against some of our most important initiatives, and he has earned the trust and respect of our stakeholders, including the Board and our colleagues,” Bruce Van Saun, Citizens’ CEO, said in the release. “His efforts have contributed significantly to our transformation into a top super-regional bank, and I am confident that his passion and leadership will continue to propel Citizens forward.”
Separately, Citizens said that John Woods will step down as vice chair and chief financial officer in August to accept another opportunity.
