INSIGHTS INTO THE BANKING INDUSTRY

Former OneWest director joins New York Community board

New York Community in Hicksville has appointed a director with experience serving on a bank board.

The $114.1 billion-asset company disclosed in a regulatory filing that Alan Frank will also stand for election at this year’s annual meeting. He will serve as chairman of the audit committee.

Frank, who spent 40 years at Deloitte & Touche, was a director of OneWest Bank when it was sold to CIT Group. He then served on the board of CIT and CIT Bank.

Frank succeeded David Treadwell, who resigned from the board, effective March 19. The company also disclosed that Lawrence Savarese resigned on March 14.

The resignations “were not the result, in whole or in part, of any disagreement with NYCB or … management relating to NYCB’s operations, policies or practices,” the filing said.
