Cullen/Frost Bankers in San Antonio plans to double its branches in Austin, Texas, by 2026.
The $51.2 billion-asset company said in a press release that it expects to hire 170 people as part of the expansion. The bank already has 17 branches in Austin.
Frost Bank has already expanded in Houston and Dallas, where year-to-date customer growth is 25% higher than a year earlier.
“We have been looking forward to bringing more of our award-winning customer service to Austin, a thriving and dynamic city where we have deep roots and a strong base,” Phil Green, Cullen/Frost’s chairman and CEO, said in the release.
The Austin market has more than $5 billion of total deposits.
