BOK Financial entering San Antonio with key hires

BOK Financial in Tulsa, Okla., has entered the San Antonio, Texas, market.

The $46 billion-asset company said in a press release that its Bank of Texas division had hired Mark Johnson to serve as market chairman and Parker Hensley as market president.

“We are thrilled to bring our brand of full-service, relationship-focused financial services to San Antonio,” Mark Wade, Bank of Texas’ CEO, said in the release.

“We have been searching for the right team to lead our San Antonio operations,” Wade added. “We are leading with a talented commercial, wealth and treasury team that will be aligned with the San Antonio community and will provide best-in-class service.”

Johnson previously served as a managing director and vice chairman at Texas Capital Bank. Hensley was a senior vice president and team lead for commercial and corporate banking in San Antonio for Zions Bancorp. unit Amegy Bank.

“We believe that this is a great time to grow our presence in” Texas, Stacy Kymes, BOK Financial’s president and CEO, said in the release.

“Even though we’re seeing some turbulence in the industry, we believe the strength and stability of our franchise will be very attractive to consumers, businesses and wealth clients in San Antonio,” Kymes added.
