Proposed Houston de novo aims to become MDI

Inspire Bank, a proposed Houston de novo, plans to apply to become a minority depository institution (MDI).

Organizers also plan to form Inspire Holdings, a holding company for the proposed bank, according to an application with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The bank plans to focus on entrepreneurs and small and midsize businesses.

Lyla London, Eduardo Gutierrez, Bruce Lammers, Ramy Mankarious and Ryan Watson are the proposed bank’s organizers.

London would serve as the president and CEO, according to her LinkedIn profile. She previously served as a commercial lending manager at Southside Bank in Houston.

Gutierrez, a former financial adviser, is expected to become chief operating officer. Lammers is a former chairman and CEO of Ridgestone Bank.

The group plans to raise $35 million, with ownership capped at 9.9%. Organizers, directors and founders to invest $5 million of the initial capital.
