Atlantic Union Bankshares in Richmond, Va., is looking to address an issue with some customers’ accounts.
The $20 billion-asset Atlantic Union “is working diligently” with a vendor after customers reported that deposits disappeared from their accounts without any notice. The company said the issue stems from a system change by the unnamed vendor.
“I would like to offer my personal apology to any of our customers who were impacted,” John Asbury, Atlantic Union’s CEO, said in a statement shared with WXVR News.
It is unclear how many accounts were impacted.
Atlantic Union and the vendor are working the make sure all the transactions are posted and any fees are credited to customers’ accounts, Asbury said.
“We are also working with our vendor to address the root cause of the problem to ensure it doesn’t happen again,” he added.
