Freshly rebranded BayFirst names new bank president

BayFirst Financial in St. Petersburg, Fla., has a new bank president. 


The $917 million-asset company said in a press release Tuesday that Tom Zernick would be responsible for coordinating First Home Bank’s various business lines and for overseeing its delivery and support functions. 

Zernick has been president of CreditBench, the bank’s Small Business Administration lending division, since 2016. 

Anthony Leo remains the bank’s CEO. 

BayFirst also said that Robin Oliver has been promoted to serve as the company’s chief operating officer. She will remain BayFirst’s chief financial officer. 

“It is my great pleasure to announce these two promotions and acknowledge the exceptional commitment and results both Tom and Robin have demonstrated over the course of their careers at BayFirst,” Leo said in the release. 

BayFirst on Jan. 3 applied with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to convert First Home Bank to a national banking association under the name BayFirst National Bank.
