Citizens Alliance Bank in Clara City, Minn., has agreed to buy two Minnesota branches from First Security Bank – Sleepy Eye in Minnesota.
The $1.5 billion-asset unit of Forstrum Bancorp., said in a press release that it plans to buy locations in Benson and Renville from the $193 million-asset First Security. The branches had $71.8 million of combined deposits in mid-2025, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. data.
The deal is expected to close in August; the price wasn’t disclosed.
“We look forward to serving the Benson and Renville communities and believe these locations will be a strong addition to our growing footprint in Minnesota,” Chad Forkrud, Citizens’ president, said in the release.
“Customers can expect a full suite of deposit and loan products, exceptional customer service, and a modern digital banking experience, all delivered with local decision-making and the community-focused values that define our organization,” Forkrud added.
